Over the weekend of 8th & 9th September 2018, Feilding Brass competed along side Levin & Districts Brass, Masterton Brass and Upper Hutt Cosmopolitan Brass in the “B” Section part of the combined contest between Wellington Districts Association bands and our very own Central Districts Association.
On Saturday, each band played their Hymn and Test piece in which Feilding Brass came 2nd in both events. Congratulations to Levin & Districts Brass for the win in those events.
On Sunday, there was the Entertainment program where each band had 30 mins to provide an enjoyable musical program including getting on and off stage.
Feilding Brass won the Entertainment program with Levin & Districts Brass coming 2nd.
The friendly rivalry and sharing of players between the two bands is alive and kicking up a lot of fun within the players.
This contest was the very first for Carissa Davies as Musical Director for Feilding Brass, at a BBANZ regional contest level. She has done herself proud and the players proud for bringing the band to the level of performance that was had.
The trophies won were for the Entertainment Programme and the Aggregate for the two day competition.
The band should be very proud of its achievement over the weekend, and with no rest or pause, we have our next engagement coming up on 6th October 2018.
