Hello and welcome to the September update for Feilding Brass.
Once again we find ourselves in Level 1, and with that, it means that gatherings can be more than 100. That is great news for our band and other performing groups because it means that big events can now go ahead.
Just in the nick of time, this coming weekend, the Manawatu Tattoo 2020 is being held at Manfield Stadium in Feilding. Feilding Brass has also been invited to perform in the opening and closing ceremony’s, which we look forward to.
The spectacle will showcase women in the arts, those that sing, those that play and those that dance. Nearly 250 local, national and international performers will present a spectacle of sound and sensation!
Special guests are ‘Brass and Brass’, made up of brass band players from around New Zealand. ‘Piping Pink’ and stellar entertainer Suzanne Prentice. Suzanne is back by popular demand and will be one of the many highlights of the Tattoo.
This will be the first official band gig that Feilding Brass has been able to perform this year, so members of the band are looking forward to finally getting out into the public setting and doing what we do best. Being able to support Bras and Brass, and Piping Pink in their fundraising efforts for Breast Cancer, while being part of a Tattoo is truely an honour for us.
If you would like to attend this event, you can get tickets from the Feilding Information Centre, the Palmerston North I-Site or online.
Another event coming up for the band in October, is the 3rd Annual Beerfest being held at the Palmerston North Cosmopolitan Club on Saturday 31st October 2020. Always a fun night had by all.
Saving the best news till last, Feilding Brass can announce that we will be holding our eagerly awaited end of year concert on Saturday 14th November at Feilding Civic Centre.. Time and details coming soon so watch this space.
Feilding Brass would like to thank everyone for their support, including our sponsors and we look forward to entertaining you the best way we know how.
