Never Too Old To Learn

One thing that always amazes me when I help out in Feilding Brass Training Band, is that as a senior band member I like to give back to a band that I have spent around 40 years being a part of. And in doing so, during many of the theory lessons that Catherine gives the group at practice, learn new things myself that I didn’t really know. I find that awesome and well worth being there.  – Nigel Towers – Eb Bass.

Just goes to show, you are never too old to learn.

Training Band

No previous musical experience is required, although the ability to read music is beneficial. Children 9 and over, and adults are all welcome.

Training band rehearses from 5pm – 6pm on Monday nights during school terms. at the Feilding Brass bandroom in Council Place, Feilding.

Lessons are held before rehearsal. The band does 1-2 performances a year which are arranged well in advance.

Welcome Along Alistair

At Feilding Brass Training Band practise tonight, we welcomed back Alistair on cornet.

Alistair started with the training band some time ago, and then had a break. Now he has returned to carry on his learning and playing with the Training Band.

He has shown us that age is no barrier when learning a musical instrument.

If you would like to join our Training band or know more about it, click on the Training Band tab above and make contact with Catherine.

Welcome Alistair.
