Coming up on the weekend of 8th & 9th September 2018, Wellington is hosting the Combined Central and Wellington District Associations Brass Band Contest.

Every two years both district associations come together and battle it out.

On Saturday the 8th, each band will play their Hymn & Test piece.

On Sunday the 9th, each band will present a half hour entertainment programme.

The contest will be held at St Patrick’s College, 581 Evans Bay Parade, Kilbirnie, Wellington

Saturday 7th July 2018 at 10.30am, Nigel Towers (Eb Bass player) and 7 year old step-nephew Rhyan, are Shaving For A Cure at the Feilding Public Library. Nigel will be shaving his hair and beard. Come on down and be part of it.

Feilding Brass will be providing entertainment before the event, from 10.00am.

Come down to the Palmerston North City Library this Saturday 23rd June 2018 where Feilding Brass will take part in Fête De La Musique 2018 , in an afternoon of French culture.

Every year since 1982, French people gather in the streets of the country to enjoy free concerts and celebrate the arrival of summer. This year again Palmerston North Library  want to share this event, an important part of the French culture, with you!

During the afternoon, you will enjoy a wide range of musical genres: from classical music to pop, rock, folk or jazz… There will be something for everyone! And to finish the day in a great atmosphere, Julia Paul, from The Voice France, and her two musicians will be entertaining us with their New Caldonian future soul music!

Feilding Brass will be performing at 4.50pm.

Coming up on Sunday 17th June 2018, is Feilding Brass’ annual Feilding Festival of Bands held all day at the Feilding Civic Centre.

The Feilding Festival of Bands is an annual contest for brass, wind, and school bands. The contest does not score or rank bands, but awards them Gold, Silver, or Bronze based on how well they perform the music they have chosen. In addition there are four special awards for the festival:

Most Entertaining Program and runner-up which are awarded to the two bands which provide the greatest audience appeal on the day.

Best Soloist and runner-up. In order to be considered for a solo award the soloist must feature for the majority of a piece. The soloist chosen may be instrumental or vocal.

This year, the Feilding Brass End of Year Concert in November, is going to be a matinee concert held at the Feilding Civic Centre at the new time of 2pm.

Historically we have had it in the evening, but this year we think a matinee concert is going to be awesome, and we look forward to seeing you all there.
